Children's Art Club

COVID-19 Virtual Transition

Children's Art Club is a free art classroom setting for the local children, ages K-8, in Menomonie and surrounding areas. I had the opportunity to be a co-coordinator of this wonderful program with another pre-service educators named Elsbeth Bandli. On average between 7-14 students every week. My coworker and I worked to develop, promote, and teach this weekly program.

Elsbeth and I are also program leaders through this program as we work one on one with many first year education students to create a lesson plan and teach at Children's Art Club. Being able to mentor my peers has really made me love the art education program and want to continue to create a supportive atmosphere for all pre-service educators within the program.

This program is funded through the Arts Integration Menomonie (AIM) grant which provides pre-service educators the opportunity to gain teaching experiences before they even start student teaching! This has allowed me to grow as an educator in a supporting environment which I will cherish for years to come!

Below are the posters that I created in order to promote Children's Art Club to the surrounding areas around campus. Elsbeth and I were able to choose a theme for the lessons that would be taught for the year and we decided that "Art In Nature" would be an interesting yet successful theme. The following year (2020/2021) we chose the theme "Artists Past, Present, and Future."

During the Spring of 2020 and throughout Spring of 2021 Children's Art Club was moved virtual! Check out the recorded content using the button above!.
