Spring 2019
Artist Statement
My approach to photography and videography was to use creative problem solving in order to accomplish the goals set within the assignments. I wanted to make sure that during critique my images were able to stick out based on subject matter, concept, and use of skill. I find that my main interest in photography comes from the candid shots. Candid photography I feels gives the viewer a glimpse into a moment of the subject matters life.

The piece that I feel is a good example from my photography portfolio would be my solution to the 'Slow Shutter Speed' project. This project was specifically interesting because of the set up I had to use in order to accomplish the effect I was going for. I used an empty classroom and an old half working flashlight. I feel this was an especially interesting piece because of the incorporation of the shoes and distinct poses I chose. I believe the overall time spent shooting was between 5-10 minutes.
